Welcome to LisaGreene.com! I hope you have fun clicking around, checking out some of my work, and reading about my latest adventures. LisaSpace has some little extras, too. Hope you’ll let me know you’ve been here by emailing or dropping a note in the Guestbook!
The Latest:
So. I’ve been off the air as a DJ since Dec. 23, 2008. A little over a year.
Not that that hasn’t happened before. I was sidelined as a jock from Summer ‘05-’06 when Oldies 104.3 flipped to the “jockless” format, Jack-FM, our titles shifting to “producer.” I remained full-time as a news/traffic reporter at Shadow, happy doing both jobs. So—off the air as a jock, but not off the air completely. Then came 100.3, then Middays at Fresh 105.9 in early 2008, until the dread 4th quarter.
So many of my talented colleagues also were let go from their radio gigs…in 2008 before me, and many after me, throughout 2009. Some have obtained new positions, some haven’t, yet. Some are in the field, but had to leave Chicago. Some are returning to their pre-radio lives, in HR, or bartending, or whatever. Why not? These are massively talented folks, so I personally hope it is temporary. Thanks to email, Facebook and other portals, I see the support for me, and for others. Thank you on behalf of myself and my radio friends who remain sidelined, due to technology and corporate mismanagement, for the kind words. We miss you, too. Keep those emails coming. The support means more than you know.
I have kept busy as a makeup artist, in voiceovers and some marketing activities, and am getting the itch to audition for another musical, one of these days. But I still search for my next opportunity in my career of Entertaining You. Hopefully those of you who have felt the economic pinch in your own industries have found work again. Sending positive vibes out there—to you and to all of us—for a most excellent 2010!!!
